If you ask most people what they want out of life, they will start listing things that they don’t want or use general terms like “I want to be happy.” Some people won’t be able to answer at all.
Specificity is crucial to being able to make positive changes in your life. If you are thinking to yourself that there is more to life than what you are currently experiencing, it’s time to start doing something about it. Complacency slowly eats away at the fabric of your being. When you decide to make positive changes, it affects you; and it also impacts the people who are closest to you. Be inspirational.
Developing the skills of self-analysis, goal setting, planning, and execution takes work. Most people don’t want more work, so they avoid it altogether. Since it is easier for most to list what they don’t want, start with those. By plucking away at what you don’t want, what will remain are the things that you do want. The preceding is not a great plan, but it is better than no plan at all. The key is to get the ball rolling towards improving your life.
