Hope is usually associated with positive feelings. It can make an unbearable situation better because it provides a possible way out. However, some people turn hopes into wishes. Hope is something that is possible; a wish is something that is unlikely to happen because it is impossible or the odds are against us. “Hoping” that you win the lottery is not a strategy for wealth-building.
If you catch yourself using the word hope, take a moment to consider if it is something that you wish for or something that you can attain because of the efforts you are putting in. Understanding the definition of the words that we use helps us understand our intentions.
Stack the odds in your favor by focusing on things that you can control rather than wishing for better days. Wishing for health, wealth, and love will remove you from the responsibility of improving your life. Taking responsibility and backing it up with action will give you a greater chance of improving your life – hoping that your actions’ outcomes will be positive.
